Diana Durrant 1921-2009

Diana-h-d-correctedHer paintings express her exuberance for life. Her media is mostly oil on canvas board.
Diana had a unique vision of the flora and fauna of the Cape – the Fynbos. The simple way in which she introduced the flora and buildings of the area to the viewer is representative of her uncomplicated fascination for life and reality.

Diana uses bright colours, which are friendly and embrace the observer.
Notably is the most successful exhibition of her work at the Irma Stern Museum in December 2007.

Diana wrote and illustrated the children’s book Sophia and Daddy’s Big Job.

And her autobiography Return to Africa.  ( I would like to link the PDFs of the books)
